Lots of things have happend during the past year, and now it is about time to wish everyone a good slide to the year 2009.

Our Gucci is doing very fine. Of course yesterday some pictures have been taken and they are already in our Photo Gallery (Gucci -> Photo Gallery -> Gucci's Childhood). Mum went to bed very early yesterday evening. Well, nothing to wonder about: the trip to Munich during the night, waiting for the arrival of Gucci, all the paperwork around the imigration to EU and then the trip back home again. .......... Gucci was allowed to sleep in the bed with us, and she, too, was in the land of dreams rather soon and slept through till there was breakfast time for us. Today in the morning she tolled already around with all of us and could also be introduced to all our Briard friends - still a bit with hesitation but not scared. We all take great trouble that soon she will be totally comfortable here.

During the last weeks Mum was busily writing and working on her computer till late in the night and now we know why and we share this information with you:
Finally she has arrived ...... a yearningly expected new family member, a kennel enrichment, an offspring of a great blood line came over from the United States and arrived in Munich today. She was already expected one week earlier, but the weather circumstances in Chicago did not allow the airline to fly her out. Last night Mum drove to Munich to get her home. Little Gucci (Daretobebare's GUCCI, TAKE MY BREATH AWAY) has already her own part here in the homepage and some photos of her puppy and youngster time are also online (new photos to come soon).
Mum thanks her breeder Mary Ann for having given her the chance to have one of her puppies here in Europe, and thanks for her trust in Mum and our family. Mum is grateful for all the information as well as the photos, which were sent during the time while she was waiting for the new family addition.
Secondly, Mum thanks Kiko, one of the three further breeders of the kennel Daretobebare, for having taken so much effort over several weeks to find the best way for having the girl shipped to Europe, and for having taken Gucci to her home the moment Mum decided for this girl, so that our little Gucci could turn to be friend with another Daretobebare girl (bred by Kiko), which also came to Austria and was shipped in the same kennel box. Kiko did not hesitate to drive the long way from her home to Chicago last week, hoping for the small chance, that the weather does not turn bad and the two girls could be shipped. Unfortunately all the miles were in vain. Still, at the airport in Chicago, Kiko continued to find the next chance for a direct flight and arranged already there, that the girls are shipped from Atlanta/Georgia a week later. Once again many miles .......... Actually Mum cannot put into words how very grateful she is for all this. She hopes that once she can return the favor! Mum is pleased that she found this kennel, breeding high quality healthy dogs, and she is proud that we are one of at present only three Europeans having a Daretobebare offspring. As for the time being, Mum can say that she will not hesitate to get another dog from these serious and helpful breeders!
Well, take a look at our little girl: Gucci.

Now we know for sure: The mating of Ula worked. She is expecting in the second week of 2009 (around January 9) puppies after Ch. ONE TO REMEMBER de GabriTho. The joy of all of us is naturally very big.

Let's have fingers crossed for a healthy great litter.
November 29/30, 2008
Mum has been at the two days International Show in Zagreb with Ula and our Briard friend Courage, and has come home again with great results. Because Ula was so successful, she now fulfills all conditions for the International Champion. You can find the results of both days at Ula's Show results. GREAT!!! BIG CONGRATULATION from all of us, Ula, we are mighty proud of you!
As we can hear, it was also a great weekend besides the shows. Together with her friend Gabi, Mum left already on Friday evening, to be fully rested on the first show day. On the way to the show there was snow in Slovenia and on both show days rain, but this could not put a dumper on anyone. Gabi and Mum met lots of friends and Mum got to know some people. On both of the days they have been on the show ground till the end. Accordingly tired they have been when they came back home yesterday. It's their own fault!
Anyway, we are happy that Ula, Courage and Mum are back home. Now there is a show rest and we shall see where we go to in the next show season. News and interesting things will of course - as always - be announced.
November 24, 2008
A great day: Today this, our new - second - homepage went online. Mum has taken great trouble over the new design and put in many night shifts, to finish this site as fast as possible. We all here believe that the new - further - web appearance of us turned out well. If you want to give us your opinion about this, just leave some words in our guestbook. We would be very pleased about that and thank you already in advance.
November 6/7, 2008
Ula has been bred to Ch. ONE TO REMEMBER de GabriTho. All details are in our breeding page.
November 5, 2008
Yesterday we have received the show photos of the Nitra show from last Sunday. Thanks so much to Franta and Magda for having kept their promise and for having sent them so fast! Some of these pictures have now been added to the Photo Gallery and can there be found in the slide shows Shows -> Shows Ula, ShowsFidji and ShowsJaris.
Concerning the show photos of the National Specialty from September 6, 2008, we have finally given up ...... because of the bahaviour of the breeder of our three black and white girls: She completely ignored Fidji and Jaris at the show last Sunday, did not even look at them. Why??? We can't understand it, as she always says that she loves the three dogs so very much. The only explanation for us is, that the breeder of our three black and white girls does not want to have the dogs she bred being presented in public, as in her opinion they are of bad quality; her own dogs are "more successful". Were we cheated??? Were we sold respectively given dogs of bad quality, although we asked for show and breeding quality???

Today Mum has been at the International Show in Nitra in Slovakia with Ula, Fidji and Jaris. Ula did well again, she got the CAC. With Fidji and Jaris it was not that good: both got a very good. Well, Mum is used to that already - also with Naomi. It makes her a bit sad that with the three girls, of which we all think highly and dearly love them, still made a wrong choice. Then let's hope that the next Chinese which moves here in some time, steps into the paw prints of Ula and mine, and Mum therewith has another successful little darling in the show ring. Anyway, a heartfelt congratulation to Ula!
Franta, the husband of Magda, has taken lots of pictures. He has promised that he will send the photos if the turned out fine. Hopefully!
For the photos of the National Specialty on September 6, we still wait - seems in vain, although they have been promised to us several times. All the other ones have the pictures already since quite a time in their homepages. What a pity, as we had really been looking forward that our photo galleries are updated. Well, we could maybe understand that we receive no photos of Ula and Voodoo, as they were not bred by this breeder, but the other three ...... ?
But maybe with the help of Franta we can manage this, at least with the three which have been at the show today. And the two of us which stayed at home - Naomi and myself - might be photographed by Mum.
So far the latest news. Till next time!

We wish everyone a Happy Halloween
October 31, 2008
If things turn to be as planned, we should have our first Chinese Crested litter beginning of January 2009: Ula (Champ. Family Song's ULA) has come into season and will be bred soon. Details about the stud will be announced when the breeding has taken place.
October 25, 2008
Two of our Chinese Crested attended the National Specialty of the Austrian Toy Breed Club today, the first ones who were shown vor the very first time in Austria: Ula and Jaris. Ula was in open class and got Exc. 1 CACA. Jaris had her first appearance in Junior class (she was only yesterday nine months old) and got very good 3. Her judgement is excellent, no fault (except her coat which is not finished yet, but this is normal at this age), still ...... the judge says she is too small. This result is a pity, as Jaris has an excellent standard size.
Unfortunately most of the photos did not turn out well, only some few are fine. They have of course been put into the Photo Gallery to the slide shows Shows -> Shows Jaris and ShowsUla.
Let's see if we have more luck with Jaris next weekend, as she will then be shown again - together with Ula and Fidji.
A great surprise was that our friend Sylvia had also entered, and finally after many months we could see each other again. Her Giny is related to our Jaris (she is a granddaughter of our Jaris' mother). It was great to chat for some hours. Thanks for your coming, dear Sylvia, and big congratulation for your second place in Junior class! You two have done a perfect job! We really look forward to our next reunion.
October 24, 2008
Our little Jaris is nine months old today and, therewith, from now on in Junior class at shows. A new period in the life our our youngest girl.
September 22, 2008
Today Ula and myself have been to our last important health check: the big eye examination, and we both are clear of any eye diseases. Here is the eye examination certificate of Ula and here is my eye examination certificate.
Therewith, we fulfill the Austrian prerequisites for breeding and are admitted full breeding confirmation in Austria. Mum was very happy and of course is mighty proud of us.
September 21, 2008
Late in the evening Mum came back home with Ula and Courage from their show weekend in Slovenia - with real great success.
It had been cold but this time it had not rained. As I can hear, it shall have been a weekend which was great with nice people and lots of fun and chats. It is talked about that something like this shall be repeated as soon as possible. I am curious who of us will then join the trip. A special thank you is sent out by Mum to her friend Gabi, with whom she drove to the show, for the fact that this time she did not have to drive herself and for the lots of fun during the weekend as well has having got to know new people. Of course there are also photos in the Photo Gallery in the album Shows -> Shows Ula.
Now here are the results of our successful girls:
09/20/2008 - international show Maribor:
Ula (Champion class) - Exc. 1 CAC CACIB BOB BOG Group 9 placed 3rd
Courage (Champion class) - Exc. 1 CAC Res. CACIB
09/21/2008 - international show Pohorje:
Ula (Champion class) - Exc. 1 CAC Res. CACIB
Courage (Champion class) - Exc. 1 CAC CACIB BOB
We all congratulate of course to these great results!
September 15, 2008
Past weekend there was 2 days show in Croatia. Ula and our Briard friend Courage were there, we other ones stayed at home. With great results the three came back home yesterday night:
09/13/2008 - national show Vukovar:
Ula (Champion class) - Exc. 1 CAC BOB
14.09.2008 - international show Osijek:
Ula (Champion class) - Exc. 1 CAC CACIB
Courage (Champion class) - Exc. 2 Res. CAC
Even though the weather was not great (pouring rain, wind and coolness all Saturday, Sunday luckily dry - both shows were outside), the trip was worth it. Mum has got to know news breeders and told us that this is in any way an enrichment for us and the kennel. With hindsight we can be happy, that we did not all drive: There was no vacant room for Mum and the two show girls, so they had to spend the night in the car. It would have been a bit narrow with all of us.
The camera was also on tour, but there was no chance to take photos. Well, maybe at the next show. It's about time that our slide shows get an update.
This is all for the moment. Maybe there are news again next week. Anyway, we celebrate the success of both the show girls.
September 7, 2008
Yesterday we have all been at the Slovakian National Specialty in Vel'ké Ripnany and as at every show, we have met lots of our friends. It was totally comfortable and great. Our resutls:
Ula (Champion class) - Exc. 1 CAC
Naomi (Intermediate class) - Exc. 4
Fidji (Junior class) - Exc. 2
Jaris (Puppy class) - very promising
myself (Champion class) - Exc. 2 Res. CAC
A very special success was Ula's CAC, because now she is Slovakian Grand Champion. Mum was totally thrilled - she had tears in her eyes when she came out of the show ring. Now our dear Ula got it finally. SUPER! I am missing one more CAC for this title, let's see if I can also make it.
Fidji has passed her Slovakian breeding confirmation, and Mum and Ivana have been very happy about this. The Turbo Mouse is now fully admitted for breeding.
In contrary to the weekend in Bratislava, where our Jaris was not too good, she has been running in the ring greatly and was not nervous. Mum was thrilled, as in Bratislava Jaris had had real bad stress and did not make one single step in the show ring, and therewith did not get a good result. Now this time it worked and we hope that the little mouse will continue this way.
And then there was a great surprise: The awards for the best of our breed were given and ...... Ula and myself are each third best Chinese Crested Slovakia 2007 (Club). Never at all we had expected something like that, and each of us has received a cup.
Naomi's father went Club Winner. With this result at the Specialty he is now also Slovakian Grand Champion and in addition even also Club Champion. CONGRATULATION!
Lots of news form only one day of this weekend. And soon there will hopefully be more things to report about, namely when Ula and Mum return back home from Croatia after the next weekend.
September 5, 2008
Some photos of the CACIB show in Bratislava are online. You can get to each single slide show via the photo gallery (Shows -> Shows Ula, Shows Naomi, Shows Fidji and Shows Jaris).
August 17, 2008
Mum has been with our girls at the two days show in Bratislava. I preferred to spend the time at home with the others. The results of the shows are found in the sites Ula Shows and Naomi Shows. Lubo has taken pictures on both days. When we receive them, they will of course be added to the corresponding slide shows.
Our next trip to Slovakia will certainly be in three weeks - when we all travel to the Slovakian National Specialty. If something new turns up in the meantime, we will of course report earlier.
July 28, 2008
Today is a real big day for us in respect of health and breeding:
On June 16, we all have been for blood sample taking in our favorite veterinary clinic in Bratislava. Wow, this was a big excitement - for us, because we were not too happy that some of our important elixir of life was drawn, and for Mum because she had taken lots of paper work with her where several things had to be filled out, needed checking and had to be signed by Mum and the vet. The blood samples were then - as we got to know - sent to France, where our blood was pre-analyzed, and these analyzations were then sent to the United States.
Insider will foresee already, for all others an explanation: it was for the purpose of a very, very important DNA eye examination - prcd-PRA (= progressive rod-cone degeneration of Progressive Retinal Atrophy). There are the results normal (homozygot normal/clear), carrier (heterozygot/carrier of the gen) and affected (homozygot mutant/very high risk of disease).
The ones who are interested in the details about this gen defect respectively about the affected breeds: with the search word prcd-PRA via Google plenty of information. It is very important that our breed is examined concerning this disease (some other breeds also have this gen defect), because with knowing the results, the untimely blindness can be prevented through breeding.
In any case, the official analyzis for our breed is only made at OptiGen® (only two companies in Europe - France and Netherlands - are allowed to make the pre-analyzis), and that is why there was such a big effort concerning the paper work and the world trip of our blood.
And today we have received the results: We five here are all prcd-PRA normal/clear! Therewith, WE never can pass on this gen defect to our children. HOORAY!!!
Of course Mum has scanned the results immediately and they can be looked at in our Breeding page, so that everyone can see that our statements are of correctness and official.
July 27, 2008
Some new photos have been added to the Photo Gallery to the album Jaris' Childhood.
July 19, 2008
For our Fidji there was another big day today: Not only that she got her birthday present from her breeder Ivana, but also had an important examination for breeding: Fidji is Patella clear. GREAT!!!
At first we all went to our vet where we got our yearly vaccination against kennel cough and our Yorkie friends Amaretto and Absinth their yearly shot, and there was bought stocks of food for all of us. Then we shortly visited our breeders where we also met Ivana.
Unfortunately we had to leave after only one hour, namely to the veterinary clinic where Fidji had her Patella check. And from there we went back home, so that we could enjoy this nice summer day in the garden.
Probably we are going to Slovakia again in two weeks, and so we hope that the visits at our breeders will last longer and that we can toll around with all our friends there.
July 14, 2008
Today we celebrate birthday: our Fidji, the "turbo mouse", is one year old. A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear Fidji. This is a very special day, the first birthday, as now you are nearly grown up. And let us tell you: we all here are very, very happy that you are joining us. We don't want to miss any day with you. From the beginning on you kept us all on our toes. Even though we grown up ones were sometimes at the end of our tether ...... THAT IS how it shall be. Continue this way, dear Fidji, because by this way you bring life, happiness and luck to this house.
Mum and Dad once again want to thank this way your breeder Ivana for the trust to give you, a treasure and a godsend, into their hands.
By the way, we have also celebrated another birthday the day before yesterday: our big Briard friend Courage turned to be two years old. Contrary to last year, this time she spent this day together with all of us at home.
June 22, 2008
Yesterday we have all been driving to Slovakia again together with Mum: First we went to our vet where Ula got her yearly shot and little Jaris her microchip, and we also got dog food stocks. Then we headed off to Ivana, the breeder of Naomi, Fidji and Jaris, where we spent a great time in the garden together with all our friends while the humans were chatting about this and that. Later in the afternoon we drove to Ula's and my breeders, and had fun with our families and friends. Unfortunately Mum had forgotten her camera, so there are no photos this time. Too bad ......... But probably we are going to drive to our families and friends again in three weeks, and then we will take care that Mum thinks about the camera.
Today we enjoy a real great summer day in the own garden, but mainly in the shade of the verandah, as it is highsummerly warm. Every day should be like this. :-)
As soon as there are any news, we will report again.
May 21, 2008
We have celebrated birthday today: I, Voodoo, turned to be three years old. Lots of our friends congratulated me, my big family of course also, there were lots of treats for me and many, many extra hugs and cuddles. A great day .......... it could be like that every day. ;-)
May 20, 2008
The puppy LiveCam has been deactivated. The area where the puppies move now is too big for the webcam to catch everything properly.
May 18, 2008
There are some new pictures in the Photo Gallery in the album Puppies -> Ula and her second litter.
May 17/18, 2008
At the two days CACIB show in Bratislava children from Ula and myself (Voodoo) were shown. Here are the results of our offspring:
Family Song's AMBIENTE (son of Ula) Intermediate class: Saturday very good * Sunday excellent
Family Song's DAIANE (daughter of myself) youth class: Sunday exc. 1 Junior Winner (on Saturday she was not shown)
Family Song's AIRY ANCIETTA (daughter of Ula) open class: Saturday exc. 2 Res. CAC * Sunday exc. 1 CAC.
On Saturday also Naomi's father was shown and received exc. 2 Res. CAC.
Family Song's CAIRO, a son of Ula's sister Lilly, got exc. 4 on Saturday and excellent on Sunday.
We send our congratulation for these results and the success.
May 12, 2008
Ula's children are now three weeks old and crawl already around. Latest photos can be looked at in the slide show Ula's second litter.
And from all the other ones of us who have spent and enjoyed a great day outside in the garden until evening, also photos have been taken and are now in our slide shows in the Photo Gallery (Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's): Jaris' Childhood, Fidji's Youth, Naomi's Youth, The whole team and Voodoo is grown up.
May 5, 2008
The shows in Montenegro and Slovakia are over, all are back home again, and so I can report about all the news.
Mum has been with Fidji and our Briard friend Courage in Montenegro at the Adriatic Cup, where they met some friends and spent a nice time. Only just having let them travel alone, they return back home with gorgeous results: Fidji has won the Junior class in Bar at the International show as well as in Petrovac at the National show and is now Junior Champion of Montenegro. SUPER, our little turbo mouse!
Courage has also done well. The ones who are interested in her results, can read about everything in our Briard-Homepage.
Anyway, we were very pleased - not only about the results, but also about the fact, that Mum has come home safe and sound with the two after two strenuous and long trips.
Not even really being back home, there was only a short rest, and soon the car was repacked and Naomi, Fidji, Mum and I drove to Slovakia to the breeder of Naomi and Fidji, where we spent the night. We all were prepared for the show on the next day. On Sunday early in the morning we drove together with Ivana and two dogs of her offspring (Carlos and Fee-Bii, a sister of Fidji) to the National show in Banska Bystrica. And also there we all had excellent results:
Fidji got Exc. 3 in youth class, Naomi in the intermediate class Exc. 2 and the Res. CAC, Carrlos got Exc. 1 and CAC in the open class, Fee-Bii got Exc. 3 in youth class and I received Exc. 1 and CAC in Champion class. For sure we can rightly say that the past week was really successful for us respectively our family members.
In the evening we went back home, a bit tired but pleased.
Of course there have been taken some photos in Montenegro and also in Slovakia as well as here at home. Via the Photo Gallery you can find the slide shows which have been updated (Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's -> Shows Fidji, Fidji's Youth, Naomi's Youth and Jaris's Childhood).
April 27, 2008
Yesterday we all drove to Slovakia with Mum. First we went to our vet, where Jaris got her last vaccination for immunisation, Naomi the yearly and for all of us stocks of food were bought. Then we went to our breeders to visit them again.
The afternoon until evening we spent with Ivana and her family, where Naomi, Fidji and Jaris also met their family members. With early summer temperatures and the sun shining brightly we enjoyed all the time in the garden. We tolled and played, the humans chatted and dear Lubo started the barbecue, and our humans had a most delicious dinner. This was once again a real great day with our dear friends. Thank you Ivana and Lubo, it was really gorgeous with you again!!!
Only just in the car we fell asleep and continued exactly this as soon as we were home. Seems we have to get used again that now the time begins that we spend many hours playing in the garden.
Next weekend we meet all again, and we really look forward to it. Little Fidji will be driving far away with Mum and Courage on Wednesday - to Montenegro for a two days show. On Saturday the three will come back home, Courage will stay here and Naomi and I are going to travel with Mum to Slovakia where we are going to be in the show ring again on Sunday. Latest after the coming weekend there will be news from us here again.
April 18, 2008
Finally: Our dear Ula (Family Song's ULA) has given birth to her second litter for our (her and my) kennel Family Song's. Four hairless puppies (2/2) with great weight (135 to 185 grams) have seen the light of day today in the morning. Ula is a solicitous and great mother.
For the purpose that any interest can see this sweet little family, a Puppy Live!Cam has been installed, which will be online several times a day. And of course there are already the first photos, which can be seen in the Photo Gallery newly set up slide show Ula and her second litter.
Congratulation to the breeders Iveta and Ondrej, and for Ula and her puppies we wish the very best!
April 14, 2008
Our dear Fidji counts to the youth now, as she is nine months old today. A reason to congratulate the little turbo mouse and a reason for Mum to immediately add some photos of today into the Photo Gallery: Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's -> Fidji's Youth.
There are also new photos of Ula und myself from today: in the slide shows Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's -> Ula is grown up and Voodoo is grown up. Have fun looking at them.
April 11, 2008
Some new photos have been put to the galleries Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's -> The whole team, Jaris's Childhood, Fidji's Youth, Naomi's Youth and Voodoo is grown up.
More news:
A page for the Family Song's Puppy LifeCam has been set up. When time has come we will announce the direct link here.
And something great: Mum is now on vacation for one week and, therewith, together with us all day long. GREAT!
April 6, 2008
Fidji's photos of the Slovakian National Specialty are in the Photo Gallery in the slideshow Shows -> Shows Fidji.
April 3, 2008
In our Photo Galleries there are new photos of us.
March 23, 2008
We have - as promised - news again:
Today at noon Mum came back home from her Slovakian trip with Fidji, Naomi and Gizmo, and of course our latest and youngest family member was also coming: Jaris moved to our home. As we could hear, she has had a comfortable trip in a transport bag on the front passenger seat while playing and sleeping, has then made her first discovery here and finally fell asleep in her igloo.
On Friday afternoon Mum and our three family members started their trip. First they went to our vet where Gizmo got the first injection of a treatment. Then they went to our breeders' home where they also spent the first night. On Saturday morning they went to Fidji's und Naomi's breeder Ivana and her family, where Fidji was prepared for the National Specialty, to where they drove in the afternoon. Fidji got a very promising 4 in puppy class. She still has to train with Mum, so that she stands still and runs smooth, but we all had to do that. A real great result was brought home by Naomi's Dad: he got the CAC and is now Slovakian Champion. We all send a big congratulation and are really happy, that he managed it. Of course also dear and valued friends were met at the show which is always a big pleasure.
Dear Lubo has again taken pictures at the show and soon these photos can be seen in her album Shows -> Shows Fidji.
While in the evening after the show the Slovakian Chinese Crested Club had their annual meeting, Mum went for walks with the three and finally made herself comfortable in the car while Gizmo, Naomi and Fidji fell asleep, being tired from the adventures of the day. Late in the evening they all went back home to Ivana, where this time they did not chat too long, but went to bed rather soon.
Today Mum stayed until noon at Ivana, so that Jaris could digest her breakfast well for getting over the trip comfortably. It was nice when all were back home again and when we could welcome little Jaris, of which already the first pictures in her home are available in the Photo Gallery / Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's -> Baby Jaris.
A warm thank you to Ivana for her trust in Mum and that once again she gave a treasure of her kennel into Mum's hands and responsibility. The small will have it great here and she will get everything she needs, just as we do. THANK YOU, DEAR IVANA!!!
In two weeks we are going go meet all again, as then Jaris needs her next vaccination, and we all will be driving to our families and friends. In the meantime there will be maybe the one or other photo update. Anyway, until then all the very best and have a nice coming to an end Easter.
March 15, 2008
Today there are some things to report:
A bit unexpected we have been in Slovakia today again. Mum had forgotten that our friend Gizmo needed her yearly vaccination. So she took the chance also, that little Fidji got her microchip implanted and Ula had ultrasound. Naomi and I joined Mum and the three. As there were lots of people at our vet, and the three would need quite a time, we first went to our friend Ivana, who also had planned a visit at the vet today, because her puppies needed their vaccinations and the tattoos. So we all waited at Ivana for the call of our vet that all could come. Naomi and myself could stay with our friends in Ivana's house, which was fine for us, as it was for sure more comfortable there than in the vet clinic.
The most important event at the vet was Ula's ultrasound, and already with the first time doing the sono, real joy came up: Ula is pregnant and will have again puppies mid of April, which will be born in our kennel and which will also have the name Family Song's. It's so obvious that we are going to miss Ula during the time that she is going to spend at our breeders.
Our vet has an ultrasound machine on which you can copy the pictures directly to a disk, and so Mum got of course a photo:
(click on the picture to enlarge it)
Oh well, and finally we also got to know it officially: in one week our new family member is going to come to us to Austria. Mum has already received the pedigree of Jaris today and an igloo for the small mouse to sleep in. Of course there are also some new photos of our little Jaris which can be admired in our Photo Gallery / Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's -> Baby Jaris.
We had great spring weather and spent all the afternoon with our friends outside in the garden while the humans had a most delicious dinner which Lubo had prepared. Our breeder Iveta and her husband Jozef also came for a visit and both of them cuddled Ula very much, as they are looking forward to the puppies.
Only when the sun started going down we went into the house where we were playing for a while with the puppies and then fell asleep. As always, time was flying much too fast and soon it was evening and we had to travel home. But there our Briard and Yorkie family was pleased that finally we were back. Lots of thanks to Ivana and Lubo for the nice hours with them and the family!
In one week there will be another trip to Slovakia, but then it will only be Fidji, Naomi and Mum travelling. The three will spend two nights there, one before and one after the National Specialty in Devin, and then on Easter Sunday they will come back home with little Jaris and all news. Let's see what we can report by then.
March 10, 2008
Officially Mum has not yet told us something, but we are not deaf and not blind. Mum and Dad have come to a decision: there shall again be an addition to the family, it shall be a girl from Mum's great friend Ivana. And since the puppies will be eight weeks old in two weeks, we guess that on our trip back home from the Slovakian National Specialty we are going to have one passenger more in the car.
We can't really say that we had assumed something like that, but somehow there was something in the air. Mum had already seen the puppies one day after birth, and when the day before yesterday we had our short visit at Ivana, Mum and Ivana disappeared in the house and after a while Mum came back to the garden with a rapt look. Yesterday there were several conversations with Dad and every now and then photos came with e-mails from Ivana ...... and what we can infer from the pictures, it is a powderpuff girl this time. Wow, hopefully impetuous Fidjidoes not pull too much on the hair of the small girl!
And what else could be: there are already the first sites here in the homepage for our little future friend. Now we know why Mum had two "night shifts" on the computer. The ones who are interested can look at her introduction and her first slide show Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's -> Baby Jaris. Have fun ...... this is really a very delightful little mouse!

We all have been in Slovakia again today. The trip went to the veterinary clinic where Ula's and my breeder Iveta work, and finally we have met Mum's friend Janka again, and also dear Palo, a family member of our breeders. Our Naomi had her final patella examination and Fidji a preliminary examination: Naomi is 0/0 and Fidji's preliminary result is also perfect. Great!
Dear friends of Mum joined us to pick up a grown up Whippet girl. So all of us went to Povoda. If Mum would not have the navigation system, we would probably still drive around, but this way we found our destintaion practically immediately, and brought a dear, charming Whippet girl to Austria where she now has a great home and will be spoiled all day long. From Povoda we went to Naomi's and Fidji's breeder Ivana and her family, where the humans had a coffee rest and we could run around in the garden. And before going home we drove over to Iveta to get some buying. We did not stay there, as it was time that the Whippet girl got to her new home.
In two weeks there will be another trip to Slovakia, as little Fidji is going to attend her second show: the National Specialty in Devin. Latest then there will be news from us again.

Today we have spent wonderful hours in the garden. Finally it was warm, no wind and the sun was shining all day long. Since Friday we had already sunshine, but the storm was that bad till yesterday evening, that we would have been gone with the wind if we had moved in the garden more than necessary. So we have enjoyed today to the full - together with our Briard- and Yorkie family. Back in the house we have made ourselves comfortable by turns on the living room stool, to which the sun was shining. Hopefully the weather remains like this, so that we can again spend more time in the garden. There are new photos from Ula (Ula is grown up), Naomi (Naomi's Youth) and Fidji (Fidji's Childhood). I did not keep still, so my photo gallery could not be updated.
And yesterday we all have been - together with a friend of Mum - for a short visit in Slovakia, as Mum had forgotten some things at our breeders last week. This visit also turned out great, as on Friday puppies were born and Mum could take pictures. The babies are from Bella, who had kids from myself last year, and half siblings of Naomi, as they have the same sire.
Ivana, the breeder of Naomi and Fidji also came to meet us, and a dressmaker, who makes great dog suits, brought us four suits which Mum had ordered.
In two weeks we are going to drive again to our friends and families. If in the meantime nothing special happens, I will latest by then report about news.

Our Ula is back home again!!! Now we can make up for the belated birthday celebration. We all are so much pleased that our girl is back home again, but they for me (Voodoo) it's not meant - as I heard - to have a "too close meeting" with her in next couple of days. Too bad ..........
Mum has picked up Ula from Slovakia in the evening, after she had been bred in Czech yesterday and today. Everyone now hopes, that mid of April Ula ist going to have puppies. You can find the details in our breeding page. Maybe we will receive photos from Czech in the next few days.
Till soon, we come up again as soon as there are news to report.

A birthday from one of us, but the celebration must be fetched later, as our dear birthday girl is not at home at the moment. Therefore, for the time being we can only send our congratulation over to Slovakia, spoiling will be in about a week:

Sincere congratulation to the third birthday, dear Ula! We all here - your dog and human family - send our very best wishes, and we look already forward with pleasure to celebrate with you, as soon as you are back home! Take good care, pretty girl!

Yesterday we have again visited our families, breeder and friends - all the four of us were on tour with Mum. And this time the four of us had a new driving experience: we have a great new dog box in the back of the car, in which we felt very comfortable, more comfortable than in the big vari kennel on the back seat.
After we had got dog food stocks at our vet, we went to our breeder Iveta, where we also met Ivana - Naomi's and Fidji's breeder.
The main reason for our trip to Slovakia was Ula: she has come into season during the week and shall be bred. To have no time pressure for travelling to the mating, we left Ula at our breeder and her family. According to the examination result, the trip to the stud can begin at any time. As soon as our girl is back in Slovakia we will go and pick her up and she will be here - just as last time - until shortly before the expected whelping day. She will have the puppies again at our breeders, and they will also have their kennel name, as Mum has agreed to two litters for our breeders when she brought Ula here.
Of course Ula is in the best hands during the next days, but still Mum is a bit sad without Ula being here at home, as Ula celebrates her third birthday tomorrow .......... and this unfortunately out of home. We will make up for celebrating when she is back home again.
Unfortunately also the show plans have got a bit mixed up now, as Ula - no sooner has she began her show season - than has to make a rest. The other ones of us will of course be shown some times.
So far latest news from here. Till soon ..........

Our show season has began, even though for the moment only for one of us:
On Friday morning Mum started - quite taken aback to realize that it was without Naomi and myself - her trip to Slovakia together with Ula and Fidji. The three drove to Ivana and her family (Fidji's and Naomi's breeder), where they spent the night to travel together to the International show in Trencin on Saturday. Ula's and my breeder Iveta also joined them - with a son of Ula's sister Lilly, little Cairo. Our little Fidji was only joining them to get used to the show tumult. Naomi and I don't really understand why we had to stay at home. We were told that it would be more comfortable here at home, and that Naomi would have deserved two days of relaxation from the high-spirited "attacks" of Fidji. That's quite possible, but usually we were also travelling. Funny .......... For sure we have missed some things, and this is what we really don't like, even though we spent a good time with our Briard and Yorkie family members. SERVES YOU RIGHT, you show freaks, you had to get out of bed early while we at home could sleep in!
In the afternoon and evening of Friday Naomi's father and Ula were prepared for the show, they were bathed and then had the first opening on the new grooming table with the hair dryer fxing: from now on that'll do as our humans now have two hands available for our body and we will have problems to see to slip off.
However: our Ula has once again brought home a great result! And of course the photos of this success can already be seen in our Photo Gallery in the album Shows -> Shows Ula. Big congratulation, dear Ula! We don't grudge you this success .......... even thought we could not be there.
Lilly's son Cairo got a very promising - he just did not want to run, unfortunatelly. Then there was also Ula's daughter Airy Ancietta, who went home with an exc. 3, and Naomi's father got an exc. 2 CAC. Early in the afternoon all of them were back in Ivana's home, where a delicious dinner was waiting for them, and early in the evening Mum, Ula and Fidji came back home at long last. Although Naomi and myself had been "stood up", naturally we greeted the three warmly, and we are happy that now we are all together again.
Ivana and Lubo: Mum says thanks so much for your hospitality and the great time with you!
Some time before long we will travel to our breeders again, and then all of us are allowed to go there, at least this is what was said today.
14. Januar 2008
Fidji, the youngest here in the league, the one which just moved here to us, is six months old today. Our vivacious girl until now has all - not only us, but also the Briards and the human - kept on trot very much, and she always comes up with something new. Actually she should have been called "Turbo-Fidji".
(click on the photo to enlarge it)
Whe she "acts the innocent" as on the photo then she just cooks out something .......... such "breathers" are only short-lived. :-)
However: normally such an anniversary day is not celebrated, but we do so as it is a real great step to direction youth and grown up, and therefore, we wish our Fidji all the best for her half-year-birthday! Thanks to Ivana, Fidji's breeder, for this "hooligan" - we don't want to miss our "Turbo Mouse" any day!
January 9, 2008
Our first event in the New Year is a birthday: Sweatheart Naomi is one year old today. Happy Birthday from all of us to a very exceptional dear and sweat "Chinese girl"! And so that everyone can see, how cute our family member is, there is a slide show of Naomi with new photos: Photo Gallery / Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's -> Naomi's Youth.
As Mum was working on an update of our site, she also put new photos of little Fidji into her slide show: Photo Gallery / Chinese Crested @ Caipirinha's -> Fidji's Childhood.
Till soon, latest after the show in Trencin with Ula.
January 1 , 2008
A Happy New Year as well as health, luck and success for our families, all our dear friends, our companions as well as all Chinese Crested fanciers!
