We have puppies, youngsters and adult dogs to place every now and then.

Some information beforehand, as I have heard that someone alleged that many of the dogs which have been used here for breeding, are sick. Can't people gather information before they spread such untruths and bring serious, honest breeders in discredit??? And in case dogs which were planned to be used for breeding were really sick, we would have on the one side NEVER taken such a dog into the breeding program, and on the other side the responsible breed club would have NEVER given a breeding confirmation. We have females WITH FULL breeding confirmation, but did not use them because e.g. for our perception they did not have enough teeth (which can occur unfortunately with hairless animals), respectively they are too big or did no suit the ideal of the breed for our liking. By the way, this kennel was the first one in Austria who made the gene test for prcd-PRA with the Chinese Crested. So much for the reliability and honesty of this kennel.

Does it then surprise when there are breeders who don't publish any health results? Anyway, thanks a lot to such brainless people spreading lies!

NO, these dogs are NOT sick, when you find written that they are carrier of prcd-PRA or PLL. This only means that such dogs carry the gene, will never suffer from the disease and shall only be bred to a partner which does not carry such genes. It goes without saying that all breedings were considered carefully, and at the time when the first Chinese Crested were bred here, worldwide it was not relinquished to keep carriers in the breeding program as the gene pool was too small. Offspring out of breedings with one carrier had to undergo the corresponding gene test BEFORE a consideration of placing the puppies was made, and ALL owners got the health certificate of their dog. If possible - when a breeder did not insist in a certain dog - always clear dogs were placed with breeders. In case owners of carriers bred them to a carrier because they have no breeding rules or don't stick to them, this is unfortunately for the offspring and their future owners not in our influence.

Our puppies go to their new homes vaccinated, de-wormed and with microchip. It goes without saying that the parents of our bred dogs have all necessary health checks and breeding confirmation. Basically all the dogs from here are placed as domestic dogs. For puppies we don't guarantee for their development (size, character bite, appearance according to standard, deseases appearing AFTER the placing etc.). We don't arrogate to place puppies or youngsters as show/breeding dogs. All dogs go out to their new owners like viewed by them. But of course we guarantee that the dogs are healthy at the moment of placing and have been raised apporpriate. All adult dogs which are placed only go out to the new owners under a spay/neuter contract (in case they have not been spayed/neutered here) if they aren't breeding prospects. Reservations are only made when a deposit is paid, a dog is reserved when the deposit is in hands of the breeder. Only when the dog has been fully paid we it go to the new home. We also export dogs when the shipping costs are paid in advance. If a dog is reserved and the interest decides to not get it, the deposit is forfeited. In case the complete or a part of the purchase price has been paid, the amount paid will be refunded whea new owner for the dog has been found. It is part of the sales contract that no dog from here can be placed/sold without the explicit permission of the breder; breeder ALWAYS has the first right of refusal. Violation of the contract will be enforced.

All our dogs know crates because of several car trips we do with them, and they are also used to sleep in crates when we spend the nights out of home with them.

Interessents can of course have a copy of our contract on demand. We ask for a short introduction when inquiring and announcement what the plans are with the dog. Inquiries for only the price of a dog are NOT answered.

This girl had the O litter of our kennel. Because of her age we had to take her out of our breeding program, and she was spayed. She was imported from the USA at the age of 5 years. We could not find out how many litters she had in the USA. Definitely we know of one in October 2009 at her previous owner after the sire Champ. Silver Bluff STEEL KING LEGACY SOM who came here for breeding station after the mating of Sterling. Here she only had puppies once (Caipirinha's O litter). She is very cuddly, gets along well with other dogs but would also feel great as a single dog. Pedigree

born 08/15/2008, prcd-PRA clear, PLL carrier, Patella 0/1, vaccinated and de-wormed up to date, spayed, imported fromm the USA at the age of 4 months.
Gucci was shown and would have had the necessary show results and health certificates for the breeding confirmation. We did not use her in our breeding program because she misses all 4 canines, and we did not know how far back in her origin this was forwarded.
Gucci is a lifely girl, gets along well with other dogs and is leash broke. She will only be placed together with Zoey, the female introduced next, with the condition not to part them. Pedigree

born 07/31/2006, prcd-PRA clear, PLL carrier, Patella 0/0, vaccinated and de-wormed up to date, spayed, imported from the USA at the age of 5 months together with Gucci; has been placed by her former owner because of her size and came here at the age of 9 months.
Zoey is the half-sister of Gucci. She was also shown and would have got her breeding confirmation as she had the necessary show results and health certificates. Because she is oversized breeding her was a no go for us.
She is a very lifely and funny girl, but also likes to cuddle much. She is leash broke and gets a long with other dogs. With dominant females she must be watched. Pedigree

CHINESE CRESTED DOG FCI Standard No. 288

Classification of FCI: Group 9 - Companion and Toy Dogs; Section 4 - hairless dogs, without working trial

General appearance:

A small, active and graceful dog; medium to fine boned, smooth hairless body with hair on feet, head and tail only; or covered with a soft veil of hair.
There are two distinct types of breed the breed: the racy and fine boned ("Deer type") and the ones heavier in body and bone ("Cobby type").

Behavior / Temperament (Character):

Happy, never vicious

Head:

Smooth, without excess wrinkles. The distance from base of skull to stop is equal to the distance from stop to tip of nose. Head presenting graceful appearance with alert expression.

Cranial Region:

Skull: slightly rounded and elongated.
Stop: slightly pronounced, but not extreme.

Facial Region:

Nose: a prominent feature, narrow in keeping with muzzle. Any color of nose is accepted.
Muzzle: tapering slightly but never pointed, lean without flews
Lips: tight and thin.
Jaws/Teeth: jaws strong with perfect, regular scissor bite, the upper teeth closely overlapping the lower teeth and set square to the jaws.
Cheeks: clearly chiseled, lean and flat, tapering into the muzzle.
Crest: ideally being at stop tapering off down the neck. A long and flowing crest preferred, but sparse acceptable.
Eyes: so dark as to appear black, little or no white showing; medium size set wide apart.
Ears: set low: highest point of base of ear level with outside corner of eye. They are large and erect with our without fringe, except in Powder Puffs (the hairy ones) where drop ears are permissible.

Neck:

Lean, free from throatiness, long and sloping gracefully into strong shoulders. When moving, carried high and slightly arched.

Body:

Medium to long, supple.

Back: level.
Loin: taut.
Croup: well rounded and muscular.
Chest: rather broad and deep, not barrel-ribbed; breast bone not prominent; brisket extending to elbows.
Underline: moderate tuck-up.

Tail:

Set high, carried up or out when in motion. Long and tapering, fairly straight, not curled or twisted to either side, falling naturally when at rest. Plume long and flowing, confined to lower two-third of tail. Sparse plume of tail acceptable.

Limbs:

Forequarters: legs long and slender, set well under body.
Shoulders: clean, narrow and well laid back.
Elbows: held close to body.
Pasterns: fine, strong, nearly vertical.
Hindquarters: hind legs set wide apart; angulation of the rear limb must be such as to produce a level back.
Stifles: firm and long, sweeping smoothly into hock.
Hocks: well let down.
Feet: extreme hare-foot, narrow and very long with unique elongation of small bones between joints, especially in forefeet, which almost appear to possess an extra joint. Nails any color, moderately long. Socks ideally confined to toes, but not extending above top pastern. Feet and toes turning neither in nor out.

Gait / Movement:

Long, flowing and elegant with good reach and plenty of drive.

Coat:

Hair: no large patches of hair anywhere on body. Skin fine-grained, smooth, warm to the touch. In Powder Puffs coat consists of an undercoat with soft veil of long hair, veil coat a feature.
Color: any colour or combination of colors is allowed.

Size / Weight:

Withers height: dogs ideally 23 - 33 cam (11 - 13 ins), bitches 23 - 30 cm (9 - 12 ins).
Weight: varies considerably, but should not be over 5.5 kg (12 lbs).

Faults:

Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree and its effect upon the health and welfare of the dog.

Any dog clearly showing physical or behavioral abnormalities shall be disqualified.

N.B.:

Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum.
